Normally one of the quietest months on campus, June was instead rejuvenated by special events. Notre Dame celebrated the 50th anniversary of the admission of women undergraduate students with "Golden is Thy Fame." Besides the normal reunions and surge in summer construction, women again took the leading role during the Hesburgh Women of Impact Retreat. They finally ceded the stage to Billy Joel, who performed in the stadium after a two-year pandemic delay.
