Coda, a continuation

Elaine Stratton Hild, a musicologist who specializes in medieval chants for the sick and dying, was a residential fellow at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study in 2018, working on a book of the chants she’d pieced together through her research. The culmination of that work, Music in Medieval Rituals for the End of Life (Oxford University Press), was published in January 2024. 

In February, singers from the Notre Dame Basilica Schola and the Sacred Music Program came together in the Log Chapel on campus to record the chants from the book.
